Filling pool after new liner

Hello! New liner is installed and the pool will finish filling today (hose water). I just took a sample today and it is updated on pool math. But to save a click I have: 0 chlorine, 7.5 pH, TA 300, CH 450, CYA 0, Salt 0

Temp is still quite chilly and probably won’t start heating for a couple weeks in MN. My plan is to start with dumping in the salt, then CYA, then chlorine. I know my TA is really high, always has been and as long as my CSI is in range the pool has been fine, but I’m also wondering if I should be dumping in acid and aerating to try to get that down.

My old liner got very wrinkled due to my bad chemistry before finding this site (even before the leak) and I’d love for this one stay beautiful. Thanks for your help!

Thank you! I have read and saved that link. I have a couple follow up questions. I will not have the cya for about a week, but I have the salt and bleach right now. I won’t add the bleach until I have the cya, but is there any reason I can’t start dissolving the salt? Will that throw off the process? Also, is any of this water temperature dependent?

You can get going on the salt. How are you testing ? We are comfortable there was little salt (and no CYA) to start but as you near target you want reliable data for both.

You want to add 5ppm FC daily so you don't get a swamp until the CYA is in, mixed and buffering the FC

Looks like it is going to stay chilly here for the next week (high 50, low 30), so anything growing will be very slow. Get your FC up, just in case - but you likely won't have to augment much, unless the coming rain is more than predicted. I just uncovered mine today. Didn't take it's temp, but it was REALLY cold taking out the plugs. Your's may be the same with the nice cold city water you are filling with.... Me? Except for Cl, I'll ignore it for at least the next week before I start thinking about chems....
