Experimented with the Banks Pool Store (Overland Park, KS) water readings

This is about as close as they get comparatively....I'm actually shocked that the P-Store readings came in this close to my TF100 drop test results.

TA 80................................TA 78
pH 7.6..............................pH 7.8
CYA 60.............................CYA 80 (they are always off on this one)
CH 275.............................CH 253 (they are always off on this one)

This was a fresh fill after a liner replacement and I added the chemicals in stages as the pool filled, testing every morning, circulating with a submersible until it was full enough to allow use of the filtration.
Before anyone says "you don't need calcium in a vinyl liner pool" we have a plaster spa and it will leach if I don't add calcium. I learned this the hard way and the result was having to have the spa sanded and replastered after one winter where the calcium levels were too low and the spa interior was like course sandpaper that following spring.

Anyway.....I couldn't have done this as precisely without my TF100 kit!!

Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

Some Pool stores are better at testing then others. Or they just got lucky.

Or their machine was recently calibrated and it's already going downhill. They claim +/- 25% when in range. At best, it's problematic because if it tests on the low side, you'd be thinking about adding XYZ, yet if it tested on the high side, you'd be thinking of lowering XYZ.

CYA at 80 for a SWG would possibly test 60 to 100. Gee. Thanks alot.
