We started our excavation yesterday and the one side of our pool with be about 24" lower than the other side. We plan to put a deck on that side which is good because the deck won't be so high, but I am reading and reading about that area between the pool wall and the yard. Backfilling I guess, is what it would be called? I have read at least 50 threads recommending a ton of different things.
Here are my thoughts, but I need some professional advice. On the deep side, after we dig and set our deck posts, I plan to run drainiage pipe around the sides and away from the pool, and then fill with pea gravel or some other smooth stone(pea gravel costs a ton around here), but I guess that means that the pipe will have to run through another trench that has to be dug out and goes to the sides of the yard, right? I'm starting to think I should have just bought a pool membership to the local pool!
Any other ideas? My pool is not rated for any type of inground installation(of course it's not!)
