Evaporation rates for my area (East Texas)

I have a 16x32 semi above pool with 7 feet deep end. ( buried 2 feet in ground) Pool Volume is approximately 16600 gallons. Pool is in full sun all day. Temps have been in high 90’s for several days with heat index’s of 105 to 109. I’ve been having to add about 1 inch of water every 3 to 4 days To stay at constant level. Is this considered normal? Just wonderOmg what is considered normal in my part of the world? Pool is new, about a month old. Hope I don’t have a leak! Crystal Clear water, thanks to you guys! No liner defects visible anywhere in the pool...

Yes, 1-2 inches per week of evaporation is normal for the hot humid south. We haven't had any rain in a couple weeks and I have had to put a inch of water in the pool a few times during that period. Results will vary based on things like wind, water features, total water surface area, etc. but the biggest thing is the water temp compared to the dew point. The closer the dew point to the water temp, the less evaporation you will have. As the pool heats up and you have lower dew points, you will see faster evaporation.

People in Arizona are going to get a lot of evaporation due to extreme temps with low humidity/dew point. I just looked up Phoenix and it is supposed to be 110 today with dew point at 54 and 17% humidity. Memphis usually has temps in the mid-90's with dew points in the mid-70's this time of year.

You can always try the bucket test if you are concerned. When I have had leaks in the past, I have lost about an inch of water per day.

Mine evaporates like crazy until rainy season starts. I go from adding water every few days to draining every few days. Your situation sounds normal to me, but try bucket test as advised if you are concerned.
