Equipotential bonding with existing concrete

We have a 4' existing concrete walkway. The plan is to have the coping butt up to the existing walkway. My question is regarding the equipotential bonding grid. Is there a way to add the bonding using the highlighted section in the attached photo so we wouldn't have to cut the existing walkway?

If you need to pass a code inspection then best to have a discussion with the Inspector in what he will accept.
