Hi there. Came here to learn and solve my problem. Had my pavers stripped and resealed 2 weeks ago now my water is clear emerald green. Per pool store ive tried pool first aid, clarifier, liquid chlorine shock and am about to pull my hair out. Dont want to have to drain this pool (16,000 gallons). Water also has a heavy smell of paver stripper. Almost a citrusy smell. Im going to order a test kit as the pool store’s results are all over the place. Heres the pic. Please help. SOS. lol

Did the chemicals used to strip and seal turn the pool green? Have you asked the paver company what they use to clean it up or the chemical used to see if their is a chemist help line to call?

Normally, we ask each poster to start his own thread.......much easier to keep straight who you are talking to.

Lineman, can you post test results? How long has it been green? Did it turn suddenly?

Turned green after shocking. Pool store showed no copper

From the pic, I would say you have iron in your water. Get the pool store to test for that BUT ONLY that ........... iron.

Post your other numbers when your kit gets in and we'll help get it all cleaned up.

Iron will slowly fade away but let's confirm it is iron and then get into how to deal with it........waiting on those test results.

Posting a full set of test results will give us a clue of green is algae green in which case a SLAM is in order or if it is iron emerald green.

Iron and other metals was likely an ingredient in the stripper that got into the pool.

I think it is better to do nothing for a few days and see if the green clears in about 48 hours.

Then you need to figure out how to get rid of the iron in the water or it will reoccur. It will probably take polyfill filtering or draining the pool or constant use of sequestrants.

So i got it cleared up. It was deff copper or iron. Drained out 3 ft abd used a product called revive, let it sit for 48 hours then vac to waste. Looks good as new. Thanks everyone
