Ay the panel when I select schedules, I add schedule 2, then select Egg timer, then make the time 1 hour, then press Menu back to main screen. The pump does not start unless I press Filter pump button. After it is running for a few minutes, I go back to schedules and see the time is still at 1 hour. Isn't it supposed to count down to zero? Doesn't seem to be working this way, what am I doing wrong? I think I tried this when it was new and had similar issue.

F,

Not even close...

With a schedule, you have a start time and a stop time..

An egg timer will shut off a circuit that has been manually turned on after the amount of time in the egg timer.

As an example.. I have a fill line that I can't "schedule" because I never know when I will need to fill the pool. But when I turn it on, I know that I want it to shut off after an hour.. So the egg timer for my "Fill Circuit" is set to one hour

An egg timer counts as a schedule or program.. Not a big deal for some one that has an IntelliCenter, but an EasyTouch can only have a max of 12 schedules.

The default egg timer is 12 hours.. That is why if you manually turn on a circuit, it will normally turn off 12 hours later.

Thanks,

Jim R.

A bit confused. Are saying, with pump running the time is normally 12 hours but if I schedule Egg timer for 1 hour then the pump will shut off after an hour but not count down?
With the EasyTouch, yes, that's correct. You didn't specify which Pentair controller you have. With the ET, the timer runs invisibly. You can't see how much time is left.

The 12 hours only applies if you manually push the Pool button and no egg timer is set. An actual schedule can be any amount of time you like.

The ET user interface uses the word "schedule" confusingly. A true schedule has a start and stop time. An egg timer is not a schedule, but its setting is under Schedules.

So basically, I find myself adding chlorine in the early evening and watching the clock to see what time to turn off the pump. Just thought if I set the timer for an hour or two, then I could relax and stop watching the clock. Every other night I need to add 1 gallon of chlorine.

F,

Just making up numbers for an example...

Let's say you normally run your Pool circuit (which runs the pump) from 6 am until 6 pm.. And... you like to add your chlorine at about 8 pm.

You could set up a Feature Circuit called "Chemicals" (or whatever) and add Chemicals to your pump RPM list. Then set the egg timer for Chemicals to 1 hour. When you go out to add the chlorine, the pump should be off.. You push the chemicals icon, (turn on Feature #) the pump should then come on and run for 1 hour and shut off.

Or, could could just run the pump from 11 am until 11 pm..

The main problem is that if you manually turn a scheduled item on/off, depending on when you do it, you can cause the system to miss the next scheduled action.

I have been assuming that you have an IntelliFlo Pump. If not, then this will not work.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I have easy touch 8, with pentair variable speed pump. There is a button on the panel that is reads. CLEAN when I press it the pump runs at a higher speed, I was told by builder for after windy days. Not sure how long it will run before shutting down, but I assume you are explaining to me to set up a circuit similar to this one to shut off after 1 hour?
