E-Z Scoop how much does it hold?

Confused here. I have a branded Aladdin E-Z Scoop. Description on Amazon where i bought it says it holds 1 lb of DE. Though written on bottom of scoop it says use a scoop for every 5sq ft of filter area. This leads me to believe it actually holds 1/2 a pound. I’ve searched the web and I’ve seen people saying both. So what is the true answer? I just installed new grids and am stuck on how many scoops to add! Thanks.

Scoop or no scoop, weighing the DE is the best way to ensure you have added the correct amount to your filter.

Put the DE in a 5 gallon bucket, add water, stir and then add the slurry slowly to the skimmer with the pump running at a relatively high speed.
