My pool pump (primary) motor started screaming. The old one was single speed. I let it go as long as I could before I thought the neighbors would start getting annoyed. I'm there. I want to upgrade from a single speed to a dual speed motor In this process. So this afternoon, I took it apart and got a replacement motor from Leslie's.

I didn't specify and didn't think about it until I had it all fully assembled (before I wired JT though). The voltage of the motor i bought was 230 ONLY. The wiring was currently set up for 115/1 from the disconnect and timer. But I have 220/1 available close.
Before I disconnect the motor, should I just pull the extra wire and rewire for 230v? Or just return and switch it out for a 115 motor?
Is there any inherit benefit to either voltage, other than availability? (It looks like two speed motors are more readily available in 230/1 locally)
Your Thoughts? Rewire and use the 230v motor? Or exchange it for a 115/1 dual speed motor?
Also, where is the best place to buy the new motor from? Is it wise/advisable to buy a replacement online?
Thanks in advance!
