I've been reading this site at various times for nearly 3 years. I was so tired of my algae. Brushing it every day, and the only thing the pool store could recommend was a different anti algae, and more cyanuric acid. I barely controlled it, and the house sitter inevitably let it get worse on any absence. 3 days of SLAM and its never looked better. All the algae is gone, even up between the tiles. The first day took 230 ounces of 7 1/2% bleach, rapidly fell off over 5 days, and now for a week its needed only 3 jumbo chlorine tabs (1 1/2# total, about 1/2 of that has solubilized). If you're not an "early adopter", pull up your "big girl panties"
and DO IT! SLAM NOW!

Show us before and after pictures. Great for other readers to see the results.

Why are you go back to chlorine tabs? That will continue to raise CYA and you will be back fighting algae again if you let your FC get too low

Long term use of tabs is the road to Swampville if you don't drain most the pool in time. Just pointing out the not so always obvious. If you are using tabs specifically to raise your CYA because you are monitoring your levels and know exactly what you're doing to them, then Bravo and carry on.

But yeah. I've read my share of posts. Probably even your share and a few other's shares too. One common theme is that rookies look for excuses to not OCLT or SLAM. The pros look for excuses to SLAM this morning before running an OCLT tonight. Both sides are wrong at times but one side get swamps for it.
