don't close and freezing weather

Hi. Have discussed before but maybe new info.
In Seattle and do not close. Usually couple of few day periods when surface of pool and skimmers freeze.
Is there anything to do to prevent these short periods of surface and or skimmer freeze?

What do the noodles do in the skimmer?
Is condensation a problem for oil boiler heaters with cold water?
is there any device to go in the skimmer and prevent freeze of water therein?

The pool noodles provide expansion protection in the skimmer and skimmer throat. As water freezes, it expands. The noodles provide space for that to occur without damaging your equipment.
Condensation will still occur. Up to you if you wish to chance it. Destruction of the heat exchanger occurs if excessive condensation occurs over time.

Condensation is very corrosive, low pH. Whatever metal it contacts can be damaged.
