I’m having the same issue, robot works great and does its daily cleaning but anytime I try to manually run it I get the same error message in the app. Robot runs fine but for some reason the app thinks there is a communication issue.
Dolphin working but not communicating with PS.

What is robot make/model?
Is the error that the app loses communication with the controller or that the controller loses communication with the robot? What is the exact text?
Some robots use bluetooth which is going to have a smaller range than WiFi. How far are you from the controller and where are you located when you get this error?
