I’ve been dealing with intermittent errors on our M400. Yesterday I figured out that one set of brushes was moving very sluggishly compared to the other side. If I helped it turn, it did OK for awhile, but there was definitely some resistance to movement.
I decided to take apart that side of the drive mechanism and found that one of the bearings was not turning easily, and after further investigation I realized that there were 2 pieces of broken plastic wedged on the bearing. It turns out that the boss on thr plastic housing that supports and guides that bearing was broken.
I took out the broken pieces, reassembled the bot, and put it back to work. So far it has been working fine.
I found that I can buy the part pretty inexpensively from Leslie’s (like $33). I plan to order the part and be ready to do the replacement sometime in the near future.
Anyway, I’m wondering if this is a common problem. I’ve not seen others comment about it so I’m thinking it is pretty odd.
Let me know your thoughts if you have heard of the issue. I dont know if Maytronics would co er it with warranty, but at $33 in parts cost, I’m not too worried.
