Dolphin Active 30i cable sticky/tacky

Hi,

I recently (2 months ago) purchased a new Dolphin Active 30i pool cleaner. The part of the cable that is in the water has developed a sticky/tacky feeling that doesn't seem to come off. Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent the cable from doing this? It's a salt water pool, water is balanced, full sun most of the day, pool cleaner mostly stays in the pool unless it needs cleaning or people are swimming. I had another dolphin that did the same, but it seems like it took about a year and a half before it developed the cord stickiness.

Thanks,
David

Same with mine. It’s just the hydrolysis and oxidation of the rubber sheathing being in chlorinated pool water all the time. There’s really nothing you can do about it and it’s not detrimental to the operation of the robot.
