Cord on my Dolphin Actice 30 is so twisted the unit can barely reach the deep end of the pool. I've tried minimizing the amount of cord in the pool and laying it flat in the sun - doesn't work. Unit was purchsed in March 2021 - not very old. Got rid of Kreepy Krawler when mortor and unit were done after 7 years. Major annoyance.

Did you unscrew the blue cord from the power supply(after unplugging the power cord), and "untwisting" the cord until it is straight?

I am one of the lucky ones whose cord isn't a major issue. When I have some tangling, I unscrew the cord and lay it on the deck stretched out and give it a couple turns in the opposite direction of the twist.

I also am very careful when taking the cord off the caddie. I uncoil it one loop at a time until it's all off the caddie. I don't just pull the entire cord off and drop it.

I also only coil it back up the same way every time I put it away. The cord almost coils itself as I'm putting it on the caddie. I think some owners are wrapping and unwrapping the cord differently every time and that's what's causing the tangling.

Disconnect the one end and lay it in the sun. Try to straighten it as much as possible. Then go on line and look at videos that demonstrate the “over/under” method of coiling a cable. Audio and video cables much longer than you robot cable are coiled and laid out everyday without ever having a kink or twist. It’s just learning and using that technique. You keep coiling in the same direction which introduces the twists. That method has you alternate every turn of the cable so that it lays out straight. I’ve been using it for years.

Thank you for your response. The twisting takes place in the water and I have tried to lay it out in the sun but that doesn't seem to work . You do seem to be a lucky one. On line, they will tell you it is a common problem and the best replacement isn't any better - just more expensive. Waiting to hear what Matronix tells me.

Thank you and Yes I do disconnect the cord and lay it in the sun. I suspect I haven't been doing that from day one as my usual method is to wrap it around my arm and hand. On line doesn't seem to help as this is replacement time.
