I'm considering replacing my Pentair Whisperflo with a Doheny 1 or 1.5 hp 2 speed pump. There are no dimensions on their website, and I emailed them and they have no info. Looking for the distance from ground up to input port, and distance back to output port. Trying to figure out if it's worth the hastle to save a couple hundred bucks. If you have one of these, can you take these 2 measurements?

Also, any reason to consider VS over 2 speed? I have 2 timers. I have 2 speed setup to run on high 1-2 hours, which also runs Stenner for bleach volume, and low speed running 8 hrs. Seems 2 speed would be easy swap, but will VS really save $$?

It will definately save you money, but with a smaller pump, the same size HP in 2 speed will still save most of those savings. So your return on investment will take longer. The bigger pumps can push the same amount of water with less RPMs so thats where the savings really come into play, but if it costs twice as much it can take a long time to pay you back.

Kinds of my thinking. And if it takes 5 or 6 years payback and I assume repairs on VS are much higher, making payback even longer. Texas heat is pretty hard on equipment. I'm thinking a Pentair 340042 at $495 might be my most reliable option.

Hang tight, The equipment gurus will be around at some point but it looks good to me.
