Does this pool quote look ok?

Welcome to TFP. Many members from Austin as well from around Texas so good local knowledge.

Appears to be a pool only - no spa. Maybe post a graphic to provide an overview.

Good that there are 2 skimmers and both independently plumbed back to the equipment pad.
Good VS pump and large cartridge filter.
Not good on sanitization system. The UV and ozone units really don’t do a great job - especially if you wish to follow the TFP methodology. do some more research on the forum regarding these systems. It would be best that you remove those and go with a Saltwater Chlorine Generator (SWCG). It will be so much easier going forward, plus as it is now with the constant high temperatures and no rain, there are more breakouts of algae due to low chlorine levels in pool. The SWCG will help maintain a consistent level that properly sanitizes your pool throughout the year.
It is denoted a cleaner line but does not state what type. Appears to be a suction side cleaner. Need to have that confirmed.
Also, there is not automation - this is not mandatory but if you wish control of your bubbler and lights via app then you need some type of automation to control that.

Another point would be your payment schedule. Request that your hold 10% until the pool is completely finished, filled with water and your punch list is completed. You will most likely get some pushback but keep firm.

Also, best to get 3 bids just to compare your pricing. They most likely may have different equipment, ie. Pentair rather than Jandy but functionally they are the same so try to have the specs consistent for the best comparison of pricing

read Pool School on top left of forum. Also the Wiki at bottom of page has info to best construction practices, etc.

Hi Herman, thanks for the input. I have gotten 4 quotes and they are all within about $5k of each other. This company has been the most responsive that is why I am moving towards them. On the SWCG, I have read the forum and have decided on going with a SWCG, but of the 4 bids, only one will even do a SWCG. I have also talked to 3 friends that have gotten pools recently and none of them went with SWCG so I have backed off on that. I will need to ask about the cleaner and automation - good points. I have already planned on changing the payment plan. I have attached the design to give you a better idea of what we are doing. thanks!

Nice design.
As long as you know what you are getting into. I do ask that you do not add a mineral device or if it is part of it then remove the mineral canister. It can add copper and other metals that are not good long term. It is your money and your decision. Just want you know what you are going into. The spec does not provide specific models so have copied some reading info that may be similar to what the PB is proposing

Love the design! My pool built earlier this year has almost the size and shape. Biggest difference is we did an attached spa. The benches are great where shown.

I would also reconsider a SWG. At the very least, skip ozone and UV and save the money towards liquid chlorine costs. Is liquid chlorine/ plain bleach easily available near you? For my 17,000 gal pool, I would need to add 4-4.5 gallons total per week of 10% LC to keep up with current demand. I believe one gallon is about $5 at Walmart. Might be cheaper other places but I wouldn’t know since I have a SWG.

If you have hard water at your house, I would recommend plumbing your auto fill into a water softener. And unless you enjoy buying chlorine every week and adding it to your pool each day, get a SWCG! If your pool builder or friends are telling you the salt will destroy your plumbing or pool deck, read about actual experiences from the thousands of pool owners here that have used SWCG for many years with zero issues. A salt water pool has 1/10 the salt of the ocean. About the same as your tears. At an absolute minimum, have your pool builder add space in the plumbing for you to install a SWCG later. That way it will be easy to install after you grow tired of using liquid chlorine and want to leave your pool for extended periods without worrying about the chlorine.

In Texas, a SWCG is essential, in my opinion. Ditch the tab feeder, ozone, UV - save your money. Those things are either a) gimmicks or b) downright bad for your water chemistry. If a PB won't add a SWCG, just have them leave a 18" straight section of pipe and install it later. PB's are not experts on water care - that's been proven about a million times.

The Polaris is likely way overpriced for what you could pay for a Maytronics robot from Marina Pool and Spa. I'd encourage you to add an electrical outlet in a strategic place to aid in the use of a robot.
