Does CC drop on its own?

Silly question.. Last weekend, kids were in the pool for a while.. Next day, I tested.. FC 5.5, CC 0.5, CYA 70, pH 7.6, TA 70.. I lose on average 0.8 ppm of FC per day, and have the SWG set to 45% (6 hr runtime), which is keeping the FC around 5.5. This was the first time this year I've measured any CC. Yesterday, tested again.. FC 5.5 and CC is now 0... TF100 Kit.

So -- at CC levels of 0.5 and less and target FC -- will CC dissipate on its own from UV, no additional pool use, etc.?

As long as FC level is high enough for your CYA level then CC will drop. Assuming the water is clear there's no reason not to use the pool. Keeping the filter & skimmer baskets empty may help.

Thanks.. Had no concerns about using the pool.. Still crystal clear.. Was just curious if CC fell without SLAMming at those lower levels. I only mentioned "no additional pool use" because nobody actually wanted to use the pool since Sunday due to the weather. (cooler)
