Do you always shower before going into the pool?

The hubs works in a warehouse so many times he gets out of work and is sweaty and gross and just jumps in the pool. My 9 year old is a constant filthy mess and we often use the pool to get the "heavy" dirt off! But as others have said, we've jumped in many times right after mowing, yard work, hiking, etc.

Took a 40-mile bike ride on Saturday, in the Houston heat/humidity. There was no way I was going to shower before jumping in. At that point, 89-degree water felt a little cool, even.

Where did you ride? And with who?
I used to run a training group "Tour de Taco" which is now called "Tap N Pedal". It used to be about the tacos, now it is all about the beer...

About 6 years ago I was weed eating for my husband because he had surgery to prop his neck back up. I came across a hive of ground bees. I threw the weed eater on the road, swatting and screaming and ran up to the pool and hurled myself in. Fully dressed covered in dust grass and probably some poison ivy. A guy driving up the road got the weed eater, shut it off and brought it up to the garage as I was getting out. Lol. He knew exactly what happened. 😂 pool survived.

Solo ride, just winding through my North Houston Neighborhoods (Champion Forest, Olde Oaks, Northgate, etc...).

I'm relatively new to the area (moved here in 2018) and trying to see if I have endurance rides still in my blood after a couple of decades off the bike.

If you need a group, and you like beer....

I work in the backyard in my swim trunks. Work, jump in to cool off, work some more, jump in again.
+1. I’d SO much rather clean the pool than the house. Once I have my robot with the new pool it will be an even EASIER decision.

Great for rehydrating. I also know people on the Karbach MS150 team. I could also help you with the St. Arnolds team,...
MS150 is definitely on my bucket list- I bought a new bike in late 2017 with that event in mind, in fact. My employer has a team, as well, although I think the last downturn saw a lot of them laid off... I was going to volunteer at the finish line this year, but the weather had other plans.

Ah, the fond memories of running a push mower over a yellow jacket nest, followed by throwing myself in the nearby creek to escape. I think the yellow jackets were swarming the mower until it ran out of gas an hour later.

I started Tour de Taco and it was basically three guys and a joke - while riding past a taco truck "Why don't we stop for tacos?"

That grew into a 200-250 person group that was 10-20 in the "off-season" but would put out 50-100 during MS150 training season. We started having the sessions start at a brewery, so we would finish at a brewery. Lone pint North from Magnolia to Anderson/Richards and No Label to Bellville were the best rides!

After 2015, I had to stop riding for my business and some health issues (neck/shoulder). I turned the reigns over to David and Danny and they renamed it "Tap'N Pedal"
