Moved from here.. Considering SWG -- Horror Stories-- Advice?

Lot of us have bought from Discount salt but seems they are tied to Circupool somehow, Not a bad thing just an FYI. They run a "$10 upgrade special so get a smaller size and get the bigger size for $10 more

I was going to start another thread on the same topic but figured it was better to piggy back off this one. (Edit by Jim R. You were right.. you should have started a new thread.. )

My pool is about 36 x 16, irregular shaped (see pic), average depth around 5ft. I calculated the volume to be between 18-20k gallons. I'm converting to a SWG and bought a Circupool CORE 35 off of Amazon. However, yesterday I saw the current promotion mentioned above. So of course I started obsessing over why are they pushing "oversizing" so much, which made me wonder if I would be better off w/ the CORE 55 instead. Thoughts? I have a Waterway 1.4hp VS pump. Since the CORE product line only has 4 settings for the amount of chlorine generated, I'm concerned if I go bigger that it will generate too much, even on the lowest setting.

If so, you will lower your pump runtime and BOOM, problem solved. Most size upgrades cost about 20% more but with less run time needed to produce the same FC, they last up to 50% longer.
