Do I assume my bleach didn't work?

My readings earlier today were

FC 2.5
CC 0
pH 8.2
TA 80
CH 250
CYA 50

I added MA to get ph to 7.5 (confirmed with retest) and then added bleach for target of 7ppm. Was supposed to add 187 oz according to pool math and I have the concentrated 8.25% bleach where 121 oz is equivalent to 180 oz. I the added the whole bottle and re-tested my FC 2 hours later and it is only 4. Why?? Is my bleach bad. The day on it was 194.
 
Are you using Pool Math to determine the proper dosing? It has settings for the strength. If you have it set properly you should see the predicted result.
 
Wait, I don't understand, if you had it set right (8.25%) and it called for 187 oz, you should add 187 not 120. What am I missing here?

That's telling you that the 121oz bottle of 8.25 is equivalent to the 180oz bottle of 'regular' 6% bleach.

Don't worry about the marketing hype on the bottle, just tell pool math the concentration, and it will do the calculations. In your case, you're doing the conversion twice.
