Discoloration

This year we’ve experienced a yellowish-brown, algae like discoloration on the liner that does not move or dissipate with brushing. The addition of iron out worked initially but then was ineffective. We then used iron out with blue magic, ran the system for 24 hours, cleaned the DE filter and started again. It was clean for a couple of days and the discoloration returned. We disconnected the heater with no improvement. We have added very little water from our domestic system and changed whole house water filter thinking maybe main water line to house is rusted but that made no change and filter was not very dirty. Chemistry for most part is on the money, and SWG and DE filter are recent. Discoloration is back. Any thoughts or ideas?

Welcome to TFP! Sounds like you have iron in the water. Even though the Iron Out worked, I would try once with a Vitamin C tablet to confirm. About the chemistry, can you post a full set with a TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C? If it s iron, you'll either need to lower the iron content in the pool by doing a partial water exchange and/or manage with proper water chemistry for iron water, or consider using a sequestrant on a full-time basis.
