Can anyone help me ID the discoloration in the attached photo? The stained area is a step in the pool and has that golden brown color; my shadow is also visible which creates an area that appears darker.
We had a few spots that turned out to be iron, because vitamin C took care of them quickly. But, the discoloration in the photo isn't affected by vitamin C. Our regular pool brush won't affect it, but the steel brush will remove it.
I have to do monthly water tests at Leslie's for our pool finish warranty...those always show iron and copper at either 0 or 0.1 ppm.
We are doing a SLAM right now, and I waited a few days to see if the elevated FC levels affected the discoloration, but it hasn't so far.
