Discharge to return and waste simultaneously

Hi guys, backwashed and rinsed my Hayward sand filter this morning. When I put the valve back to the filter position I’m getting water going back to my return as well as some flow to my waste pipe. I’m assuming it could be the spider gasket in my multiport valve? It’s a Hayward Vari-Flo XL. Thanks for any help.
