Dimensional compatibility for different Pentair pumps

I'm planning on replacing an old 1HP Pentair Superflow with a newer 2 speed model.

When I look on their website, under Dimensional drawings, it looks like the inlet and outlet positions are the same, regardless of HP, and only the motor length changes. It looks like I can just swap pumps without redoing piping. This seems too easy. Am I reading it right?

You are correct. You could just replace your motor with the equivalent 2 speed for less upfront money and not need to do any plumbing.

Does the impeller change with horsepower?

A 1 hp single speed and 1hp 2- speed will have the same size impellor. A 1hp pump will have a smaller impellor than a 1.5HP pump.
