Difference between daily and weekly chlorine tests

Ok this is bizarre and I feel like i'm taking crazy pills. Dosed up the pool the other day with liquid bleach from the pool store. Tested with the daily TF100 chlorine\PH test and the chlorine side is completely clear. I think did the weekly test where you take 10mg of pool water, a scoop of the powder and it turns purple indicating that there is chlorine. Is it possible the R003 is bad?

Possible. But more likely your FC has dropped to zero. When did you last do the weekly test?

Funny, that is my daily test not weekly lol

Yeah, I don’t use anything but the FAS-DPD test. Right now, with the high heat, UV, and swimmer load, that’s a daily test for me.

The only test I use in the swim season is the drop test & that’s every other day if pool has been covered. If pool gets used a given day or has been uncovered I do a drop test daily.
