Did I create mustard gas?

Hello,

Before anyone says so...yes I did this all wrong and should know better :)

I might have made a minor (or big) error in adding 1Lt of 12.5% liquid chlorine and then a few minutes later trickled in 500ml of liquid acid through the filter basket. Noticed that there was brown coloured water existing the outlets in the pool for about 15 seconds a few minutes later. Now, in addition to this there was a bunch of gum leaves in the filter basket...have I made mustard gas or has the acid stripped the leaves on the way through and this was what was blown into the water?

Now, normally I spread my acid over the top of the pool as part of a much larger bucket of water/acid mix (lesson here...don't be in a rush) and normally my SWG is running but I thought I'd add some liquid chlorine. So - combination of errors and not my typical procedures :(

Pool is not in use and won't be for another 2+ months, so no risk of anyone using it.

I suspect that the chemicals reacted with contaminants in the sand filter, maybe iron.

If the sand filter hadn't been backwashed in a while before the chemicals were added, I think that it's the most likely cause.
