Decoy’s 2023 AGP thread

Mid summer update! So water has staying clear and clean (thanks TFP). July was hot and we enjoyed the pool as much as we could get out there!

We had some hot days and evaporation so added water twice. Then some rain so that stopped me from adding more. Noticed my CYA dropped a lot in July and had to use more LC than usual.

This weekend my robot decided not to work anymore!? I used it 5 times or so and I think the controller is the issue so I’m waiting on a reply from Maytronics as it should be under warranty. Sucks I really like how it works and hope to get it back going soon.

Added about 14oz of stabilizer the other day and boy did that help get my FC back to using less. Wish I added back the CYA sooner as I was starting to burn through LC.

The last thing we’ve been dealing with is some of these deer flies biting us. It was worse in mid July, but they still come back every now and then.

Hope everyone’s summer is going great!

Update!
Maytronics never responded to my email so I called them on Monday. I explained I only used the robot 5 times and they promptly sent me a new power supply!

I received it yesterday and Scuba Steve is back up and running. I needed it too cuz that Dang cherry tree in my neighbors yard basically dumps new things in the pool each month . :D

Well my second season with this pool down. Overall I think I did ok. Recap:

Bought a dolphin E10 at the beginning of June and the controller had to be replaced after 5 uses. But luckily under warranty.

The pump I bought last year overheated and had to be exchanged right before closing again!

Got a new cover with the extra ft in diameter as last years was only 24’.

Closed last weekend and all went smoothly.

Besides the new dolphin and cover all I spent money on this year was CyA and LC!

Tfp!!
