Dead Algae

Hi! So I am having a lot of dead algae appear in the pool and so I am starting to wonder if it is seeping through the filter and back into the pool? If this is the case, what do I need to do to get rid of it for good?

My water is clear and all of levels look good....just can't get rid of the dead stuff! Any help is appreciated.

You need to keep your FC up at SLAM level till you pass the 3 criteria. It appears your last test yesterday showed 5.5ppm FC. Your SLAM level is 10ppm FC for a CYA of 50ppm.

The 3 criteria are:

1. Clear water (no algae, dead or alive)
2. .5ppm or less CC
3. Pass the OCLT

Maybe brush up on SLAM Process

Maintaining SLAM level and filtering 24/7 is what clears up the algae.

Yes. SLAM till you pass all 3 criteria as noted above.

The algae is only mostly dead. It will rise again. You have to keep it dead and filter it all out. Only when you pass ALL THREE criteria are you done with the SLAM. Till then, maintain FC at SLAM level.
