I'm having a hard time clearing a cloudy pool. It was suggested that I add DE filter powder to my sand filter, which I have done in the past. However, it's been awhile. All chemicals are good according to pool company.
I have 2 questions.
1) if my pressure is 16psi when clean, what psi do I backwash at?
2) After I backwash, if my pool is still cloudy, do I add more de powder?
it add everytime I backwash

1) About 20 psi (100% would be 32; 50% would be 24; so 25% is about 20).
2) Yes

HOWEVER ..... here's the thing to remember. Cloudy usually equates to algae. Are you currently running and maintaining a SLAM Process? If not, then don't bother with the DE. It's a waste of time and energy. Using DE should be the very last item to do if water clarify is lagging behind during the SLAM Process.
