A little promising news tho! I did the cya 50/50 test loos closer to 90 (so double would be 180) but when tested before it was down below the letters cya even with the 50/50
Caught a few flakes on cardboard. The dirt around it foamed but the flakes did not .

With the chlorine holding. Are we concluding the flakes are coming from lodged “yuck,wwm or whatever on earth it actually is” somewhere that has been killed by chlorine just still hanging around ?
If it's not eating any FC, then probably. Or it's tree debris that also doesn't eat any FC. Either way it's going to be filtered and you'll want to deep clean it 2+ times between now and closing. A backwash may not be enough if it's gummed up deep in there.
Thank you. About a week ago we used a “filter cleaner” that sat in the filter 4 hours then backwashed it. Do you know if the Ahh-Some works as a filter cleaner? The owner says be sure to backwash after 2 days. Or should I buy another bottle of cleaner, and do you have recommendations?

It's not going to hurt and I've seen the gunk the traditional Ahhsome loosens firsthand. I'd kinda be surprised if it didn't help in any way, although probably no miracles either.

Hi Badpoolmom: If you recently purged the tub and placed your cartridge filters inside the tub proper to float around while the plumbing purge was being performed your filters probably only need hosing off. I would hold off on purchasing the filter cleaner for now. If you have a sand filter, you should get it. Following the instructions the cleaner will penetrate throughout the sand or filter media and dislodge bio-fouling particulates. I don't know what type of filter you have. Send me more info and I will assist. Tell me if you have a pool, hot tub or both.
It appears she has white water mold in a chlorine pool. Your line cleaner is usually part of the cure and that's the base of the questions.

That being said , just got off phone with pool builder. He suggests replacing sand media with glass after closing. He’s covering labor and giving $100 off dr Dryden glass media . For a Total of $300
Tells me it would be $200 for Sand and the labor rate is 150 typically

Correct. It has been well tested by countless members who reported no superiority, at many times the cost.
As long as you have unions to easily remove the MPV up top, there's no particular handiness needed. It's not like you're a first timer with tools trying to build a deck.

Ahh-Some Purge will work no matter what the water pH is. We do like the pH to be somewhat in an acceptable range when purging so the available sanitizer can oxidize any bacterial biofilms that may be attenuated. A high pH like 8.0, slows down the oxidizing process. Chlorine is less active at a very high pH. We want your sanitizer to kill and eliminate any of the biofilms that can come in contact with open skin cuts on hands or arms as well as to prevent biofilm laden aerosolized particulates that can be harmful to anyone with a compromised immune system or lung issues. Ahh-Some cleans the gunk and nasties out and the sanitizer neutralizes what prolific biofilms can do.
