CYA Level???

I just tested for CYA using the Taylor 2005 Kit.

The readings on the cylinder (the, "tube") in the kit progressively higher down the tube... until the number 100 about midway down the tube.
About 1/4" Under (below) the 100 mark on the tube are the letters "CYA".
The black dot disappeared from view (when viewing from the top of the tube) when I reached the *BOTTOM* of the letters CYA on the tube.

So, what is the approximate CYA... 400?, 600? 800? and,

How much of the pool should I drain?

My guess is almost all of it..

You can do a diluted CYA test per these instructions... Pool School - CYA

That's what I figured... y'all just made my wife extremely happy. We have never drained the pool (12 years) and she has wanted to refinish it since we moved in (I like the mottled appearance).

Looks like a late winter/early spring project.
