New test results this morning. I think I’m on the right track thanks to you guys!
If I remember, my FC needs to be higher to compensate for the high CYA. I’ll find the chart, add some bleach, and retest FC. This sound right? Anything else stand out?

FC 9
CC .6
pH 7.4
TA 100
CH 200
CYA 160

For anyone interested, our CYA was 400 night before last. I turned off the skimmers yesterday and used the pump to rinse to waste as low as I was comfortable with our high water table. I couldn’t readily find a sump pump in our one horse town. Feel free to critique my method. I’d like to be able to save my readings I’ve taken so far, but I can’t figure out how. You guys are great. Thanks so much!

Looking much better!

Other than your CYA still being too high and your FC too low for your current CYA level, it looks good.

Rather than always having to have the CYA/FC chart handy, just remember to keep FC at 10% of CYA during normal maintenance and you'll always be good. The actual minimum is 7.5%, but I don't like to flirt with the low end. So I always try to keep it 10%

For a slam, FC should be maintained at 40% of CYA. It is safe to swim up to this level.

Thanks. That’s a much easier way to remember the formula.
So my FC needs to come up to 1.6, correct?
I’ve never added bleach to a pool before. I made sure to get the right kind and it’s in date. I assume I need to read the pool school again to see how much to start off adding. I don’t want to mess things up now by just dumping it in Willy Nilly.
I really appreciate it!

Yes, raise FC to 16. Use PoolMath to determine how much chlorine to add. Just pour it in front of the return with the pump running.
