SO I know it has been covered a bunch, but I cant find what I am looking for searching.

Anyone had any luck adding one of these to an existing hole?? Last year I enlarged the inlet/outlet holes to bigger fittings.

This year I want to add the skimmer, to where the return is (higher on wall) and make the return where the suction is. (lower, I think better for mixing)

Anyone had any luck?? Do you think it will fit over the hole AND allow it to be as far up the wall as possible (want to lose the least amount of water level)

Here are a few pics

I would do the skimmer in a new location. I expect the hole would be too low if you try to place it where the return is. As for using the old lower "to the pump" location as a "return to the pool" I think that will work fine and have been thinking of doing that too.

I also think that hole is going to be too low, however look online and find some skimmer mouth diminsions and cut out a couple of paper templates. Tape them up where you want them to be and see if that will work with the hole you want to use. If the skimmers won't work with that hole, you can always patch it or use it for something else, like a dedicated vacuum port or a port for a fountain.

ok so I got it done tonight.. made a slight booboo.. nothing a little water weld did fix. So here are some pictures..

Removed the old fitting

Lining up the hole

Helpers with the screws through

I chose to take it back off and keep the butterfly intact

Putting it back together

See the little spot underneath... yeah a little to high

was leaking.. water weld shoved underneath
