Still waiting on my TF Pro Salt test kit. Took a sample to Leslie’s (I know I know). Here’s what they said:

FC - 1.15
TC - 1.51
pH - 7.8
TA - 133
CH - 176
CYA - 45
Salt - 2500

Still trying to figure out what to add 1st or do 1st. I know TA need to drop closer to 80 right? I saw somewhere where you shouldn’t reduce TA more than 20ppm at a time. Is that correct? I can reduce that with Muriatic acid right? CH still confuses me as I don’t have a gunite pool…it’s fiberglass. What should that number truly be? I just feel like I don’t know which steps to take in which order. I know FC needs to come up for sure.

The pool looks great right now, no cloudiness, looks clear, filter is working great, etc.

Any help would be appreciated!

I wouldn't do anything based on pool store tests.

I would add 5ppm of liquid chlorine a day until you test kit gets here. Then, post up numbers from your test kit and we will get you going...

In general,
if you do not have a tile waterline in your FG pool, CH is irrelevant.
I would ignore TA and manage pH. Keep pH in the 7s. As you maintain pH, TA will come down. Use Muriatic to manage pH.
Keep your FC up for your CYA...Link-->FC/CYA Levels

Thanks for the reply! Is there a preferred brand or strength I should use or are the all pretty much the same?

I meant to ask...it's still relatively safe to swim in right? We swam last night and felt fine. Just want to be sure.

You can find Liquid Chlorine at most Walmart, Lowe's, HD, and Ace hardware. You will likely find 10% and 12.5% All pretty much the same, buy on price.

In a pinch, you can use Bleach. NO Clorox, no splashless, no fragrance, no softeners, to 3 in 1, 6 in 1 or anything in 1. Just Bleach.

You do not have enough FC in your pool to kill bacteria. Can't tell you if that is safe for YOU.

Add 5ppm of liquid chlorine a day to stave off algae growth.

Thanks again for your help. to increase it 5ppm daily, is there a calculation for that on the bottle of chlorine? I punched in the numbers on the Pool Math app under Free Chlorine, listed my CYA at 45, and put in "Bleach", "10%", "128oz". It recommends adding 58oz.

Home screen, click three bars in upper right, select "effects of adding." Choose bleach and enter what you have (%), up the amount until it show you an increase in FC of 5ppm. Add that amount.

Added exactly 96oz. Gonna check it with a Pentair kit that was given to me by a friend. Does anyone know how long it takes for the TF kits to ship to Texas LOL?!? Anxious to get that bad boy!
