Not exactly. Higher FC levels kill algae more quickly. But they also can have side effects that sometimes include damaging the pool. We have tried to structure our recommended levels to balance out all of the various factors as best we can. In practice going up to mustard algae shock level is always safe, and sometimes a little faster/better and more often not really worth it.
