Cracked Sand Filter Valve.. Change to 2"?

This is the sand filter I have:

Excel Top Mount 24" Sand Filter, 1.5" Valve

The valve is for 1.5" plumbing, so our 2" plumbing is stepped down to fit the valve. It is cracked and I am going to have to replace it, so I was wondering if the valve with 2" plumbing would fit onto my filter.

Looks like a pretty standard MPV. A 2" Hayward should fit but I would try to contact the manufacturer of your filter (or Pool Warehouse) to ask them if the collar on the tank is the same size as a Hayward or Pentair. Failing that, buy the 2" valve from somewhere that accepts returns if the collar size is not the same.
