Cover with ladder

I have a 22' steel frame pool. My ladder is set up so that I cannot take it in and out of the pool until we take down the pool in fall. How do I properly cover it for day to day? I do not want to use just a net but a black tarp like cover for heat retention.

I am wondering if I buy a 24' pool cover would that do the trick? Has anyone done this? (Attached a pic of the style cover I am looking at)

TIA

Typically, people use a solar cover (similar to bubble wrap) for daily use for heat retention. It floats on top and doesn't have to be fastened around the sides. Mine just bunches up a little in front of the ladder. You can add a reel to make it simple to roll up to swim, then unroll to cover. It doesn't need to cover the entire surface to be effective for heat, but it is not designed to keep people or animals out of the pool. If you need a safety cover, I'm not sure how you'd make that compatible with a ladder.

agree with Amrie, solar cover is better for heating and you can just cut our the spot for the ladder or let it bunch up a little. in winter with a real winter cover you will have to remove the ladder.
