Greetings all. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have a Coverpools cover, around 5 years old. Today when we tried to close it, no action at all. I tried all the usual stuff, like cycling the power, taking apart the operation switch (it's a turn-key style), etc. Then checked the Auto Shut Off Board, which showed the yellow LED for "sensor circuit open" lit up. Maybe that's normal when the cover is open? Coverpools and our installing company were of no help, and neither are the manuals.

So then I tried bypassing the sensors (blue + orange wire, attach to the black wire). No life in either direction. I reconnected the wires normally. Now both the "sensor circuit open" and sensor circuit closed" yellow LEDs are lit up. Interestingly, the cover moves a little when I turn it to open (it just pops an inch, because it's already open). But zero action at all still when I try to close it. Not even a motor hum or anything.

Thanks for any ideas!

is the motor turning at all when you run the switch, it sounds like it might be a shear pin inside that has broken. I personally hate the sensors that some people use. I have only had problems with them. If you are watching the cover close you should have no need for a sensor. the magnet in the cover might have moved beyond the sensor as well and it could be tripping the system. You could try to pull the cover by hand a couple feet closed then try it again once the magnet is for sure on the water side.

No, nothing at all from the motor.
