I was wondering if there is pool coping options that are similar in price to flagstone. I feel like our contractor was sort of pushing Oklahoma flagstone but we aren't sold on it. I read that classic travertine is priced close to flagstone but I'm not sure that is correct. We are also considering precast concrete. Does anyone know the general price differences? Thank you for your help!!!

Pricing can be very different regionally, so I'm not any help for your area. Travertine and flagstone were going to be the same when I was building. It also depends on the stone place's inventory. At the time, my PB's stone company had a lot of travertine.
You might want to check on quartzite. It's beautiful, similar in appearance to what we call flagstone, and is supposed to be more durable than flagstone.
I recently did some research on flagstone, and it was recommended to use 2" - 2. 5" thick pieces for coping - less chipping and flaking the article said.

Price wise I bought 2 inch thick Scabas 24x12 travertine at $11/sq ft... this was in Southern California..
Have you considered cantilever deck? When framed and poured correctly, it would look a lot lke precast concrete.
Cantilever deck should be poured separately from the rest of the deck, and it should have mastic between it and the rest of the deck. The deck shouldn't be attached to the pool.

I don't know what flagstone costs.
I paid the same for the same material (travertine coping pieces that come bullnosed), just a different color, and that's in Southern Nevada.
A cheaper option was to use Travertine pavers, you can leave them square edged or have them bullnosed on site. They come in 2 thicknesses, 3cm and 5cm, our price was around $5-7sq ft for the travertine pavers, plus a labor charge if bullnosing on site. We were originally going to have a concrete cantilever coping poured and coated with spray deck material, but the price was pretty close to the travertine paver used as coping option, we then decided to upgrade to the travertine coping option.
