Concrete pool up north

Holy smokes, Mats... I know that you look at this with a much more critical eye than we do, but I have to say this again: You do some nice tile work. Smooth, even, straight, consistent. That's some nice looking stuff, there.

The pros save time by not being as careful.

Thanks ohm boy
This grout gonna cost me a fortune. Except for all the money I paid for the grout that I will run out of before the pool is finished, is it endless amounts of scotch brite pads, cellulosa sponges, regular sponges, special tools(=expensive) that I use to apply the grout with, tons of plastic gloves. Besides from that have I emptied out the super markets all bottles of distillied white vinegar :)
I went in there yesterday and the girl behind the counter just said we still out of them :goodjob:

But what am I supposed to clean the blood stains with?
Vinegar is for dissolving bones, silly. For blood, you want bleach.

Boy, someone's been watching a little too much TV... :?

I nod my head and pretend to understand :? :-D

looking great, keep up the good work seems like you can start to see the finish

Thanks sweety :-D

Sorry to bother you with more epoxy gibbersish but.....
I looked up which sizes Kerapoxy grout can be bought in beacuse I will run out of it before I'm done with the pool, so I need to order a few extra buckets. Guess what! They comes in three different containers 2,5,10 kg. The store that I bought mine from never said anything about that and have sold me the biggest size  No wonder that I need to work like an maniac to get it out.
I will contact the person that sold me the stuff tomorrow(A person I like in a way) and ask him what the  he was thinking about when he sold me the biggest containers of this stuff. I think he should have knowledge enough not to sell me container sizes that probably are ment to be used by professionals
I have two 10kg buckets left, I will save them for the plain floor and order 3 new 5 kg buckets to what's left of the stairs and the waterline tiles.

Heeey...Don't forget to take notes! you don't wanna miss any of the essential information in this post, right....
I promise not mention epoxy, grout, Kerapoxy until the grout job is done, that's a promise. Period!!!!!!

Thanks britinusa!

Within a few weeks, depends alot on the weather but if the summer likes to show just a little bit of herself I think three weeks from now is beliveable. That would be right at the beginning of our vacation, something to look forward to :goodjob:
I had few hours today when I didn't know whether or not ir should start to rain, so I started to cut up the beams that gonna hold up the roof on the kitchen. That is old beams that I've got from my neighbour, not anywhere near straight but that's the way I like it. I have put up them temporary just to see wich angle I shall mount them at. Once the roof is up can I put in the our new gear that I have stored in my cellar the whole winter :hammer: It will be a relief to start to use our new Weber grill the old one has past it's prime a long time ago
I really miss wood as a material. For the last 2 years all I have worked with is hard materials like concrete, masonry, rebars and clinker blocks, you get the picture right  so to put my hands on the roof will be nothing but fun, not something I can say about the work I'm stuck with at the moment
On the opposite side of the kitchen will I mount a marquees that will go out 3m. I have already said that in another post but I think it's such wonderful idea that it's worth repeating

I have also poured the last of the black concrete around where the shower will be placed, which feels good :)

I'm in a little hurry I went to bed so late last night so I've slept in almsot an hour longer than normal this morning. So what does Henry do then? Yeah, running out in his underwear with the camera and document this weekends job. I just have to show how very good the glas mosaic turned out when the ***** is applied  I'll be away this week so you won't see any more of me for a while

And look what our precious cat have done! Can't express enough how much I love him. I'm so glad that he put his small footprints there in the concrete :-DABIMG_8218.gif[/attachment:1bwj2168]ABIMG_8219.gif[/attachment:1bwj2168]ABIMG_8220.gif[/attachment:1bwj2168]

Nice work as always, Mats! Love your color choice, that pool will look especially refreshing when filled with crystal clear water!

And yes, I know the love between feline and master as well! I have the sweetest little kitty that likes to miss the litter box when she urinates. It is so cute. And even though it is not my cat but my GFs, who do you think cleans up after the precious little darling? Sometimes I just want to hug her to death... (EDIT: Speaking of the cat of course...DGF is a keeper! )

Mats-

just a suggestion, but put some while epoxy filler in those footprints (maybe some of that grout?) and they will be a wonderful thing to remember years down the road. We have puppy and kitty prints across our patio and they are a fond lasting reminder of pets that spent their time with us.

Hey... just wanted to say Happy Birthday!!! :)

Oh thanks alot fpm :)
I still roaming around in a giant 40 year creese and just waiting for a chance to slip out of it
Nah!! I'm travelling pretty good for an old bloke so I'm content :goodjob: What more can I wish for! Our pool will be filled next sunday when Elin our youngest will return from a camp she will join next week. I didn't have heart to fill it up before she returns. And the day after that will both me and DW will start our vacations, 4 weeks in a row :) hopefully with pool full of water ! What a blast that will be :-D I just hoping for some decent weather so we can use the pool as much as we want. I can see myself working a little with things that are left to be done. Not in a furious pace, just slow and easy! Taking a bath, having a cold, cooking something out there, working some more, yeah i can live with that life for 4 weeks :whoot:

:) I have put roof over our kitchen and will start to mount the kitchen equipment as soon as I have apllied the stucco underneath the counter. I won't have acces to that space once the equipment is there so that's has to be done this week to come.

Lersharc! I will save the footprints on the ledge, I'm very found of them and was thrilled when I saw them. I should go over the surface once more with the trowell when I saw the prints. I skipped it so I could save the prints.
He is so very dear to us all in the family and we really love him and pay him so much attention. He doesen't like to eat alone(he is such a caracter) so I have to lay on my knees besides him and keeping him company at his bowls  If I leave before hi's finished he usually stopps eating immedtiately!

It's almost here, Mats. Life is good! Best times I have anymore are spending a bunch of hours with my family in the pool, then cooking up a meal in our outside kitchen.

Enjoy your 4 weeks vacation! I wish I could figure out how to take 4 consecutive weeks off of work; problem is, I would never want to go back to work if I did. :-D
