I could use some direction on repairing concrete that has been crumbling where it meets the coping (pics attached). Trying to get someone to come out and do one of these jobs is almost impossible. I would say I can handle jobs more than your typical DIY. But, not that familiar with deck/coping construction.
This is an In-ground vinyl with top mount coping, 40 yr. pool. I already have a decent amount of (new) coping to replace the broken pieces. My thought was to take a concrete saw and cut the deck parallel to the coping say 8” from the edge. Break-up, remove the old concrete, put the coping in, pack gravel (if needed), add wire mesh and pour. Possibly drill 3/8 for rebar and dowel (not sure)? It’s time to replace the liner, so I’m not worried about that.
Also, a couple of spots are not that bad, so I was thinking of simply filling that in with some sort of adhesive/sealant (any suggestions?).
I really could use some expert advice on the approach.
