I'm currently experiencing the same communication loss problem. Happened about 10 days after pump was turned on, then again 11 days later (today). Can I check the firmware through the ET control or do I need to check on the pump itself?

Flipping the breakers and waiting approx 15 seconds has worked to reset comms in both instances. Still very annoying on a brand new pump.

John,

No, you would simply put the system into the Service mode.. That is what it is for..

In the Auto mode the pump's display will show "Display Not Active"

When you go into the Service mode, the pump should no longer be controlled by the Automation. It should show an RPM screen

As a side note... If the pump's screen is blank in the Service mode, it means your pump is not wired correctly.

Thanks,

Jim R.

As Jim said, put your panel in Service.

Head to the pump display and navigate Menu > Settings > Device > Firmware.

Firmware is the 9th selection once you enter Device sub-menu so it'll take a moment to get there.

If you have a firmware that's 3.03 or 3.04 then flashing to new firmware will fix it. This will need to be done by a warranty station or your area rep for Pentair. We have a special 'tool' for flashing firmwares.

If your firmware is not the above, then you'll move on to checking physical connections.
