Hello! My name is Cara and we are a family of 4 (2 girls, my husband and myself). We bought a house with a pool 3 years ago. Everyone thought we were crazy for having a pool in Colorado but my husband is from Cali and always had one growing up so he convinced me and we love it. It's 13.5K gal Fiberglass in-ground rectangular pool that's about 20 yrs old. I am new to TFP and have devoured all the basics info and more. I'm ordering the TF-Pro tonight so we can test asap. Our girls think the pool smells (and tastes...I know...gross!!!) like mold and we see floating white pieces (possible white mold) that aren't from plants so we've "closed" the pool until we can test. I see a lot of info on algae but not much on white mold. Whatever it is, we will do the overnight chlorine loss test first to see if we need to SLAM. Wish us luck!
