Due to a job loss I could not purchase chlorine any longer and had to let my pool turn. Now that I am up and running again, I am working to clean it up. I have Slammed the pool but it needs to clear up so I can see the bottom. I am using a clarifier to help my sand filter but it has been weeks and it is not clearing up as fast as I would think. Note! It is clearing up, just not fast. Should it take weeks to clear a really cloudy pool? Or I'm I doing something wrong? I dont want to Floc it. I also have my manual vacuum upside down in the middle of the pool acting like a main drain. Any recommendations would help.

How often are you testing and adding LC? Every 2-3 hours is ideal but that's always realistic. If you're adding LC fewer times a day, it will take longer and sand filters are the slowest at clearing.
Is the filter running 24/7? Are you brushing and vacuuming every day? Are you backwashing the filter? The recommended is 25% above clean pressure. Have you removed and scrubbed the ladder? What's your current CYA level? Are you keeping FC at the right SLAM level for your CYA? Sorry, these are all just the first questions that go through my head. Post a pic of the water if you can please.
