I normally keep a nice sparkly perfect TFP! But it is driving me nuts right now. Cloudy and dull water.

I’ve been fighting with cloudy water for a few weeks. I’ve had a lot of wind with debree and pollen in my pool. I’ve been running the vacuum and filter non stop but shut it off this morning to see what settled to the floor. Nothing of significance settled today. I started a slam just in case of algea and brought the pool to slam level of 16 yesterday morning. I should have started with the OCLT which I did this morning - my pool passed. I’ve had a slightly greenish yellow “dust” on the floor plus the cloudy greenish yellow tint to the water. In the picture here today, it actually looks better but still dull and cloudy.

I’m going to be adding a SWG when I get this cleared up. I need to do this ASAP. I’ve got my first grandchild coming this summer and I will be out of town ALOT. I need to have time to dail in the swg before I leave.

I’ve cleaned the filter cartridge, brushed the pool, run the pump non stop and had the vacuum running.

What should my next steps be?

Your water looks stressed. I would be inclined to continue with a SLAM, but first let the FC drop to about 9, re-validate the pH (adjust to 7.2 for SLAM), then raise the FC back up to "16" and keep it there until you pass all 3 SLAM criteria. There are just too many factors pointing towards algae (cloudiness, greenish/yellow dust, failing the OCLT). Of course while you are SLAM'ing, continue to brush really well and inspect every area of the pool to include behind your pool light and/or in any ladders/steps if you have them. Hope that helps.
