Ok, while I'm working on this shocking process, I see the algae laying on the pool floor. As soon as it gets brushed, it goes away and I thought the bleach and shocking process would eliminate this. So whats the deal with that and what does it mean to have that?

Bleach kills it, but dead algae has to get filtered out. The brushing helps mix the water and kick the carcasses up into suspension so that the filter can catch them.

Eventually the filter will catch all the debris.
