Chlorine
Salt Water Generator
SWG Type
Intex Krystal Clear
Pool is AG 15x30x4 so ~10k gallons. Using intex SWG/sandfilter/pump (Intex 2650 GPH Saltwater System & Sand Filter Pump Set | 28681EG (56681EG))

Opened pool in April but did not start running pump due to issues until about a month ago so got full of crud and turned green. Repaired sand filter with plastic weld and works for now (will be replacing soon but no leaks for now). Then SWG was not working so repaired circuit board and that works now (had to solder new capacitor @c13 on circuit board, can make another thread on that).

Shocked and ran pool pump/filter and pool is now not green but very cloudy.

So I have never added CYA to pool and never really had an issue but clearly time to add some. Have a K-2006. Tested CYA and basically shows zero as water stays clear. So figure need about 5-6lb for 10k gallons. Then will adjust ph down as showing around 7.8-8.0 so 8-16oz of Pool Mate PH Minus (assume this would be considered dry acid?). I have some liquid too or could get muiratic acid...then will do SLAB.

CYA going to buy:
Aquamate Stabilizer and Conditioner
Contains 100% cyanuric acid

Issue is I added 1qt clarifier last weeks which did not help then added 8oz Flocculant (Pool Mate Drop Down liquid Floc from OSJL) and has sat not running for over 50hr but has not sunk as expected so finally tested water and think issue is no CYA and high PH. However because i added the Floc thinking im going to have to run filter on recirculate for now? Or should I set to filter and backwash often? Or I can run a large pond pump or two (made a "fines" filter thinking would help) and once FC good shut down can see if Floc settles after another 40hr and then vac to waste?

I'm sure I sound like an idiot here but have never had issues in 5 plus years just using SWG. I've never used a tablet or adjusted ph. These are just from previous owner that did not have a SWG. Normally just shock once when open and dont have to do anything whole season but clearly that was not ideal and got lucky. Now regretting throwing out old sand filter and pump. But buying a new 16in sand filter and valve so will likely replace sand.

I can test other stuff just let me know.

Hopefully can at least tell me im on right track to add CYA and adjust PH then shock/SLAM.

TIA.

Sounds like you've gotten off track somewhere. But to remove algae, we follow the SLAM Process. You have to follow that page carefully. Yes, you need stabilizer, and that stuff you listed should work fine. Problem is that floc and clarifier. We almost never recommend that stuff - bad problems later. You MUST vacuum to waste. If it hits your sand, the sand becomes junk.

Once you get the floc/clarifier vacuumed to waste (and/or change the sand if needed), then start the SLAM Process. First lower the pH to 7.2 with muriatic acid. Get a sock soaking with stabilizer for a CYA goal of 30, and increase ( and maintain) the SLAM FC level of 12 until you pass all 3 criteria. That's key.
