Our first tropical storm with a pool and we just got lots of rain and wind and a couple of tornado warnings! I thought the pool made it through okay ... just some dirt and debris and plenty of water to cool and fill the pool back up. Even had about 3 ppm of FC left even though I wasn't testing/adding chlorine and we got over 5 inches of rain. FC levels bounced right back so I wasn't too concerned. Yesterday pool still seemed a bit cloudy after 3 rounds of brushing/vacuum and 24 hr pump ... so did OCLT and it lost 1.5 overnight. SLAM time started this morning to get whatever Beryl brought in ... le sigh 😕

So I backwashed and rinsed the sand filter after its been running nonstop since Monday night. Added darn near 3 gallons of liquid chlorine. Plugged Pooly Shore (the robot) back in and now there's this white cloudiness around the edges of the pool. How concerned do I need to be with that?20240711_090243.jpg

The white stuff might be dead algae. I don't see any test logs linked to yoru profile here at TFP. Since you are in SLAM mode, are you sure you are maintaining the appropriate FC level based on your current CYA? That's going to be key for best success.

Ah! Thanks! Good to know ... didn't know we could link the two! Cya is at 50 and I'm using pool math for addition amounts.

White stuff is clear now and waters still a bit cloudy but better! Keeping up with the SLAM!
