After a change in the forecast, my closing day has been pushed forward to today so I have no time to let my FC drift down. I bought some Poly 60 from Amazon (I can still return it since it’s unopened and I have 30 days) a week ago but will not be using it to close my pool due to time restraints. Do you think I will be okay? Here is some info if it helps at all....
*OCLT was 0.5ppm
*Water is currently 1.5ppm below SLAM level.
*Water temperature is almost 40 degrees!!
*I’m opening as early as humanly possible just like I’m closing as late as I possibly can lol.
*My water is crystal clear as always and I’ve never had a single speck of algae.
*Pool has been brushed, vacuumed, and leaves scooped out. There’s only a tiny bit of dirt at the bottom (you have to be very close to notice it).
**I AM USING A MICRO MESH WINTER COVER**
What do you TFPers think? Could I possibly get by all winter (central Ohio) without opening up to green water/algae at opening (I’m opening before temps hit 50)? Should I add an additional few cups of bleach to bring my FC back up to SLAM (20ppm) an hour or so prior to draining below the returns today? Any other tips? Sorry for all the questions. It’s my first closing lol
PoolMath numbers from 6am this morning:
FC: 18.5
CC: 0.0
CYA: 50
TA: 90
pH: Around 7.5-7.8ish. I adjusted it prior to bringing chlorine to shock level.
CH: 75
Water Temperature: 42 degrees Fahrenheit
THANKS IN ADVANCE!! I’m nervous lol
